IVOA
From EStar
International Virtual Observatory Alliance
The IVOA was formed in June 2002 with a mission to facilitate the international coordination and collaboration necessary for the development and deployment of the tools, systems and organizational structures necessary to enable the international utilization of astronomical archives as an integrated and interoperating virtual observatory (VO).
The eSTAR project is committed to, and involved in, the ongoing IVOA standards process. Alasdair Allan serves as the project's representative on the IVOA working groups.
Sky Event Reporting Metadata
The heaviest input the eSTAR project has had on the IVOA standards is as part of the VOEvent working group, where the project is actively and enthusiastically involved in the evolving standard and in producing prototypes to test bed new ideas raised by the group.
